We
are sorry we really had not had our best day when we met Lync. We had
missed our exit, got lost, argued. It had been a very long day and were
too tired and nervous. Lync was however all cool and understanding with
us.We had actually received Lync's reply after we had already told Phebe we would stay with her. However, Phebe was actually a friend of Lynn, they lived very close and we were happy he was going to come and hang out with us.
At the end, it turned out Phebe was going on a hike early the next morning, so Lynn offered we could stay with him; he would be happy to welcome us in his apartment after all.
As short as it was, we had a great time with Lync. We were a bit grumpy after our long day, but Lync always had a smile. He was very friendly, but also a sensible guy. He was eager to offer help and give good advice. He also showed us around. It was cool to talk about American stuff, so far away from home, and the experiences of Americans abroad.
Thank you very much Lync.

both know so much about the world and are a treat to meet. I also loved

with him one night. Wolkan's reply was enthusiastic and very easy to
decipher: "PLEASE COME!". Unfortunately we were not able to check our
email until late, so by the time we knew his answer, we were not sure if
he was going to be still available. We called and he explained there
was no problem, it was OK if we were coming late. He came down running
to pick us up. He gave us the warmest welcome to his house. He put all
the house ready for us. He got all the food he had out. He was so nice

Cleo

once before and once after we went to the Cyclades. It was so nice for

back from our island adventures. Cleo has an absolutely addictive
personality. She is such a pleasure to be around. So sweet, gentle, and
cute. Wonderful to speak with. We spent less time with Andreas, but he
helped us a ton by finding the opening hours for the Delphi
Archeological Site. They are both such hardworking people, that we did
not get as much time with them as we would have hoped. If we were not in
such a rush to finish our trip, we would have loved to spend a few days

get some relaxing vacation time, and maybe someday we will even get to
meet again. Thanks a million you two!!

Yunus was the sweetest host for the worst guests. We are so sorry we could not spend more time and hang out with him a bit more.Yunus replied to our request explaining it would not be easy for him to host us, but he really wanted to meet us. We had also found another host for our first two days in Istanbul. But we were able to arrange to stay with him on our third day. Unfortunately, we got a bit lost in Istanbul public transportation maze and arrived rather late. Yunus was cool, friendly and understanding and came to pick us up. We had the chance and enjoyed talking to Yunus. Hhe offered any help he could give. Unfortunately, it was late and time to go to bed. We left early the next morning, hoping we will see Yunus in the evening, but we found the palace closed that day and decided to leave town and start heading east.
Thank you very much Yunus for your help. I am sorry we could not spend more time together.

Ben
did not receive our request at the best time: he had been sick for the
last few days. However, he still offered his help and told us he would
be happy to welcome us, if we could not find anything else. It was mid December and we had a horrible day in Berlin: it was freezing cold, rainy and the wind kept blowing the rain onto our faces. We arrived totally soaked and miserable at Ben's house, but he welcomed us with a smile and offered a change of clothes and a hot shower!
Ben is a very nice person. He is the kind of person who makes you feel comfortable when you are with him and sad when the time to leave comes. Ben is a very friendly guy, very easy to deal with, very generous, always happy to help. It was very difficult to say goodbye, because we were having a great time with Ben. He is really a great guy. It
is very difficult to write a reference for Peter, because words will
alway fall short to accurately describe him. Peter is very nice person.
The same is true for his family: his parents, his brother, his

such a friendly person, so kind, always a smile on his face... He is
just lovely!Peter accepted our request to stay at his place, but we changed our plans and decided we would not spend the night in Kazimierz and continue towards Warsaw. Peter still explained he would love to meet us in Kazimierz and be our special guide. We had got up at 6:00am that morning, so we thought we should take a nap when we arrived in Kazimierz. Peter sent us an SMS, but we didn't answer, because we were sleeping. He called, but we were still sleeping. He looked for us and finally found us sleeping! He took us to a cafe, he showed us around and when we were done he took us for lunch with his family. Peter is just lovely!

gave us the warmest welcome to Tarnobrzeg. When we arrived he explained
he wanted to be a good host and he certainly stood by his word all

saved no effort trying to make us feel happy and enjoy our visit: he
showed us around, treated us to food, explained all the questions we
had... Our only complaint (let's joke for a minute) is that he had not
iron our sheets and the wrinkles consequently did not allow us to sleep
comfortably... It was funny to hear Konrad explain he had not iron the

rather difficult to find hosts in Central America and we truly
appreciated to meet a warm heart and enjoy Nate's hospitality. We truly enjoyed talking to him that evening. Unfortunately, he had to get up very early for work the next day. He was working at some local school, but we had the chance to see him the next day and chat some more on our way back from "Parque de Aves". We are really sorry it would not stop raining those days, and consequently, as beautiful as Copan Ruinas was, there was no much we could do there.

Particularly unique about them is their generosity. They know how it feels to be in a foreign place in need of help. It is particularly remarkable and admirable they are just offering sincere help. They don't mind 'copy and paste' or 'last-minute' requests, because they understand, there are times where you just need help and can afford to spend five hours sitting at some computer looking for a couch. There sole motivation is to help.

We
only spent one night with Danijela and Ante, but it is was a truly
wonderful one! This family is a big heart in the most beautiful town in
Croatia: Trogir (at least as far as we know...). This couple with their
three beautiful children gave us the warmest welcome to Trogir. They
gave us some really good home-made food: Ante's bread was simply
amazing! All of them were very curious to learn about us: our origins,
lives and adventures. THey also treated us to some delicious
conversations. We learned so much about the war in the ex-Yugoslavia and
Croatia and the Balkans in general. We had loved to stay longer with
this wonderful family, but we already had plans to continue to Bosnia.
Thank you very much! We hope to see you again sometime in the future!

Positive
Caley is a young, wild, pure soul. She is full of ideals, dreams and love. Very few people like Caley is so eager to reach out, open her heart and help out. You may think she is naive, but she is fully committed to her mission to 'pass on her smile' and probably something more: spread love and happyness. Don't ever change Caley! Your mission is a tough one and you will certainly experience many set backs, but is well worth fighting for and ultimately will always be rewarding.
